Do you remember blowing into the open end of the game cartridge to make it work? Can you hear the game playing in your brain right now? Thinking about how the mushrooms, weird turtles, plants - any number of odd things were always trying to kill you? If you answered yes to any of those then you probably feel old right now because Super Mario Bros came out in 1987, almost 40 years ago! I get it, but don't be sad, embrace it! Most kids these days won't know the joy of dodging the mushrooms, or hitting the flagpole just right to get the most points. We were lucky. Things were simpler then...sigh.
Anyway, this skein will be inspired by those endless hours playing Mario, and for me, Duck Hunt because I just couldn't get past that one freaking level. This month’s skein will have a playful 80's vibe that will take you back to those days when things were less complicated and video games were simple. So break out your windbreaker, pop some pizza rolls in the microwave and settle in! It’s going to be fun!
Sock - This yarn is perfect not just for socks, but for all kinds of things! It's soft but durable and will stand up to a lot of abuse. It is 4 ply, 75% super wash merino wool and 25% nylon, which gives it it's durability. Each skein is 437 yards and 100 grams.
Sport - This sport is soft and squishy with great bounce and a lovely drape. It is 3 ply, 100% superwash merino wool with 328 yds/100g.
DK - Just like my signature sock yarn, this is a soft but sturdy workhorse yarn. Great for sweaters and hats. It is 4 ply 75% superwash merino wool, 25% nylon with 245 yds/100g.
Worsted - This stuff is soft and really nice to work with. It's great for colorwork and hardwearing items. It is a 4 ply 100% superwash merino wool in 100 gram skeins with 218 yards.
Chonky - The squish, the twist, the softness! I could go on and on about this beautiful chubby yarn. Great for cowls, hats and super comfy sweaters. It is 3 ply 100% superwash merino wool with106 yds/100g.
These skeins are hand dyed in a smoke free studio with professional acid dyes.
Hand wash your finished project in cold water and lay flat to dry.
Don't be brave. Keep your knit or crocheted items out of the dryer.
